[Chrissy feels that there's probably a whole lot to be said about going straight from a terrible relationship with Jason to a relationship with Billy. Her mom has plenty to say about it. Her friends have a whole lot to say too. But Billy's become her closest friend, and she trusts him. He helped her ditch Jason once and for all, and she'll always be grateful to him for that. And really, it's not like she and Billy are actually together. No matter what kind of awful things her mom says to her, Chrissy just lets them roll off her back. It's just like the comments about her weight or her appearance. They hurt but don't matter in the long run.

As soon as she graduates she's getting the hell out of Hawkins.

It's just too bad that probably means leaving Billy behind too. He's the only thing getting her by these days.

They're currently parked in his car beneath a tree on the outskirt of the parking lot. Everyone else has long since gone home, but she's just escaped cheer practice and he's just finished with basketball. He's smoking, and she's watching his smoke cloud gather up at the top of the car. Music's playing, but she's not really listening to it. Her attention is focused on someone else that's still lingering on campus.

Eddie Munson must be done with whatever club he's a part of, because it's nearly 5:00 and he's just now heading out to his van. His arms are full of...well, it looks like swords or something ridiculous. Maybe he's part of the school play or something. Chrissy thinks that would suit him. He seems to be struggling with the armful he's carrying, and she excuses herself from Billy's company for a minute to jog across the parking lot to go help.
]

Eddie, right?

[She calls out as she approaches, smiling and tucking hair behind her ear. Yeah, those are definitely prop swords.]

Here, let me help you with that.

[Is it weird for the head cheerleader to be coming out of nowhere and offering to help him with his weapons? Probably. It's only made more weird by the fact Billy is definitely watching over in his corner of the parking lot, and every single person who goes to Hawkins knows they're dating. Even Eddie. Billy made that abundantly clear in front of everyone at the end of the last pep rally.]

[Chrissy knows that what they're doing is wrong. She's still with Jason, but they decided that it's better for her to wait to end things with him. It's safer if they keep holding out and sneaking around. Whenever she's with Eddie, it's easy to forget about anything and everything except for him. She loses herself in him completely, putting Jason and the rest of Hawkins High out of focus. All that matters is the two of them and the little world they make for themselves.

Today, that little world exists is their clearing in the woods right outside of school. No one ever comes here except for him, and the few people who are brave enough to seek Eddie out to buy drugs off of him during school hours. So far, no one's ever caught her out here with him. Which is nice, because it's like they've got a secret place that's just theirs. She loves going to his trailer. Absolutely gets a thrill of the things they get up to in the back of his van. But being out at the picnic table is nice in its own right.

His vest is stripped off, laid out on top of the wooden tabletop for her. She's reclined back atop it, sprawled out lazily across the tabletop. He's sitting on the bench beside her, his hands resting on her stomach. She idly plays with the rings on his fingers as they talk. They've just finished off a joint that she rolled herself, Chrissy's first time ever to give it a try. Things are calm and they're both content, the quiet conversation between them nothing more than flirtatious banter.

It's nice, she thinks. She's willing to cut class every day if they get to share moments like this one.
]

I've been thinking. [She turns her head to look up at him, smiling a little.] About coming out to the Hideout to see your show this week.

[It's a risk for her to do that. There may be people there who see her, and Jason may hear of it. But the longer this thing between them goes on, the less she cares about him finding out. Really, she almost wishes that he would so they can stop sneaking around like what they have is something that needs to be hidden.]

Eddie?

[Chrissy calls out after him, knowing it's rude to follow him toward what must be his bedroom. The trailer is small and cozy, but it feels like a home. She doesn't want to intrude on that. They have a vibe going, something flirtatious and new. But that doesn't give her the right to chase after him and barge in on his personal space. Especially given the fact she's pretty sure he's only being nice to her to sell her drugs.

Then again, he isn't taking her money. This one's on the house. So maybe all that smiling and flirting was real. Thinking that makes her take a cautious step toward the tiny hallway that leads back where he is.
]

Eddie, did you find it?

[She sounds increasingly anxious and worried, and decides that standing there alone like this is an invitation for the things that have been plaguing her mind to come back and haunt her. Chrissy tucks her hands further into the sleeves of her cheer uniform and hurries back toward where she can hear him rustling around. Her head peeks through the doorway of his room, and she tries to smile so he won't know just how anxious she's feeling. ]

You found it, right?

It wasn't like they just jumped right into things. Steve Harrington was a sweet boy. A pretty boy. And Chrissy didn't care how often his face made both of their heads turn. She and Eddie weren't just diving in head first into trying to lure him in. It took a few times hanging out with Steve before they were able to even discuss what they wanted. In the end, they knew that this was something that would take time. So they invited Steve over to hang out and just had fun with him as a friend. Sure, they were a couple. But they never made him feel like a third wheel, and always tried to behave themselves when they were around him. Chrissy liked to think that they really couldn't help stealing a kiss or two in Steve's presence.

It was like advertising what a hot couple they were, as well as a silent invitation for him to show interest. If Steve ever did show that interest, neither of them caught it.

Eventually, with neither of them feeling they could just bring up their mutual attraction to him out of the blue, things fell to the wayside. They continued to hang out with Steve and he was their friend. They smoked and played games and went out on the town, and spent nights laughing and talking. They also happened to do a lot of drinking.

One night when they all were completely wasted, Eddie having gotten them into a dive bar a town over. There was a great band playing, and Chrissy had drunkenly led the boys out to jump around and dance for most of the night. They were sitting on a torn up leather couch over in the corner of the bar, Chrissy and Eddie making out with little regard to the fact that Steve was sitting on the other side of Eddie. She was left a little dazed when Eddie pulled away, saying something to Steve that she didn't catch fully. All she knew was that he had asked the other guy to step in for him while he went to the bathroom. And Chrissy, with as drunk as she was, thought this was an amazing idea.

"I'll take care of him!" Chrissy called out, even though Eddie had asked Steve to take care of her.

Without wasting any time at all, she slid her way right across the couch, the leather only seeming to make the movement more smooth for her. Steve smelled like a mixture of alcohol and his cologne as she leaned in close, not shy at all as she kissed him. Her hand pressed against his shoulder, almost anchoring him to her as she tested the waters. Obviously if he wasn't into it, she would back off. But with the opportunity presenting itself, she knew she'd regret not taking it.

Chrissy's known for a few days that they need to talk. She isn't avoiding him as much as letting their busy lives at school take over, as she gives herself time to think. They still eat lunch together outside so he can smoke, he still drives her to and from school. But there's an edge to her that's anxious, much like she had been in the days leading up to telling him that she was ending things with Jason because she wanted to be with him.

And she thinks he can recognize when she's afraid or nervous, two things that she's very much feeling now. Every time she even thinks about glancing at the pregnancy test hiding in her backpack, she starts to feel terrified. Chrissy feels backed into a corner, like she has no options. And she really doesn't want to force that same kind of pressure on him. He's just gotten his life back together, and they worked so hard together to get him acclimated to being back at school. It wouldn't be right to pull the rug out from under him now.

But she also can't not tell him either. She's not the kind of girl that lies by omission. So she finds her courage on the way to school one day to ask him to go anywhere other than Hawkins High School. They find themselves sitting in his car near the lake, Chrissy anxiously fidgeting.

"There's something that you need to know."

She can barely speak over a whisper, her stomach is in so many knots.

"It's important."

[When she went to Eddie Munson in the woods outside the school to try and get drugs off of him, it was her final attempt to try and stop what was happening to her. She hadn't been expecting to have quite the conversation they had, and maybe she went back home that day with a crush on him. It gets her thinking about the possibilities outside of Jason and the way he's with her because it feels like he wants to own her. When she slips into Eddie's van after the basketball game, she wonders if the butterflies in her stomach are caused by being aware of her new little crush, or if it's because she's about to do drugs for the first time.

Of course, as her luck has it, he's not actually able to get her anything. The chaos that's unfolded in Chrissy's mind finally comes full circle, and he returns to the living room with drugs in hand, only to see her floating. In her mind, Chrissy is facing down the monster that killed her. She's terrified, trapped in her own head. There's no escape, she realizes. And she thinks that this i it. This is how she's going to die.

She remembers calling out to Eddie before the lights flickered. Remembers calling out to him again right after they did. But as she screams for him again, it dawns on her that he's not able to hear her. The terror turns to pure panic as the monster finds her, advancing on her with words that are meant to be a reassurance. Don't be scared, he tells her. It will be over soon.

Tears stream down her face and all she can do is scream. She thinks of Eddie in the clearing in the woods, the way he had smiled and laughed. How he had literally forced himself to fall back off the picnic table just to make her laugh. In those final seconds, she wishes she had been brave enough to do something more than just smile and laugh. She wishes she had done one thing worth living for in her short life.

Out in reality, her eyes are whited over as her body trembles. Tears slip free from her eyes, but they're completely vacant. She's accepted her death, too afraid to do anything but shake and sob in fear.

[Sometimes when she and Eddie get high, they lose any sense of a filter and just chatter endlessly. One night after they've smoked and are laying in bed, Chrissy halfway dangling over the edge, she suggests that she thinks Steve Harrington is pretty. It's not a surprise when Eddie agrees.

What is a surprise is Chrissy suggesting about twenty minutes later that they could invite Steve to join them sometime. She says it so casually that Eddie probably thinks she's just talking to be talking. When she brings it up again a little later, she thinks he gets that it's something she's genuinely interested in exploring. Only this time she phrases it as a question, asking him what he thinks about Steve.

The topic is brought up again the next weekend when she's over, and Eddie finally suggests that they do something to sate her curiosity. He's never denied her anything before, and doesn't seem to want to start now. She's only taken a couple of hits off the joint they're passing back and forth at that point, and wonders if he's the type to get jealous. She doesn't know if she is.

But she knows that she wants to know what Steve is like when he's being appreciated the way he deserves. And she thinks Eddie wants it too. There's not an ounce of jealousy about that when she insists that he do something to get Steve over.

The first time Eddie manages it, Chrissy gets shy. Eddie picks up on it and instead of worrying about seducing Steve, they all just get high together and spend the night talking and laughing. She's a little more forward the following weekend when they watch a movie and she winds up squeezed between the two of them on the couch, holding Eddie's hand as her head rests on Steve's shoulder.

They make a habit out of hanging out together, and by the time Chrissy decides her curiosity about Steve in bed has reached new heights, things between the three of them feel easy and natural. There's nothing awkward about the way her eyes watch Steve's mouth as he takes a hit off the joint Eddie passes him. There's nothing wrong with the way she leans in to surprise Steve with a kiss right after. And there's definitely no jealousy as Eddie takes a turn right after. Her eyes widen in surprise as she enjoys what she sees, but then her boys are breaking away and she has to act like she wasn't just watching and enjoying it.

She fails miserably, blushing as she laughs and glances over at Steve.
