Character Name: Chrissy Cunningham
Character Canon: Stranger Things
Character Age: 18
Canon Point: directly post death + 6 months in game spent healing at the hospital
Link to History: over here
After falling through a confluence in February directly after her death, Chrissy's mangled body was taken to be treated. Through a combination of magic, superpowers, and modern medicine she was able to be revived and stabilized. She spent a few months sedated so her body would heal from the numerous and intensive surgeries required to heal her. She undergoes months of rehabilitation and physical therapy after she's finally stable enough to remain awake, and isn't released from the hospital until the end of August. She's been around for a while, but hasn't had an exposure to the setting or anyone in it until now.
Inventory: The clothes on her back, and a gold necklace with an 86 charm.

Powers —
Skills: Chrissy's an amazing cheerleader, okay. She's the cheer captain and is a flyer on the squad, meaning she gets lifted and tossed around and does all those really amazing tricks. She's more athletic than her slender frame would make anyone think, and is flexible and relatively agile. Not agile enough to escape dying, but it's enough of a skill that I'm mentioning it here. She also is in Woodworking II back at Hawkins High, which means she enjoyed and did well enough in Woodworking I to want to take another class on working with wood. Let her make you a birdhouse or a wooden sword.
Superpowers: All of Chrissy's powers are given to her through the Confluence.
Dream walking- Chrissy is able to visit the dreams of other people. She can project her consciousness enough to hop from dream to dream as needed, and can slightly control the dream reality while she is present. This gives Chrissy the ability to turn people's bad dreams into good ones with some effort. She can change her appearance in the dream, but not the appearance of others.
The Perfect Cheer - Chrissy will always be able to know just the right cheer to do to support someone. Her cheers will grant her intended target a temporary boost of energy, and fill them with the confidence that they need to complete whatever task they're focused on. Her power can be amplified by a group cheering with her, being able to influence a large group of people to receive the boost.
Light creation - This ray of sunshine can create her own light. She can illuminate her entire body, or focus on a single part of her body to make glow. It does nothing other than act as a light source. There's no heat coming off of it. No attack power. Just Chrissy glowing like the sunshine girl she is.
Limitations: Chrissy is just an average human, physically speaking. She can be killed the same as anyone else.
Her dream walking power can only be used at first while she's asleep. As she gets stronger with it, she'll be able to project her conscious in a trancelike state. Anything that happens to her in someone's dream is able to be reflected upon her in the real world, including death and injury.
Her perfect cheer can only be done once every 12 hours, and targets that are resistant or immune to motivation can block the effects, even unknowingly.
Light creation does not require a light source to draw from. However, it can only last for up to an hour when she's first using it. After an hour, every minute she remains lit will drain her until she's left depleted of light and energy. She will require a twelve hour deep sleep to recharge when this happens.
Personality —
1.Cheerleading - Chrissy Cunningham wasn't always the queen of Hawkins High School. There were a few formative events that led to her being crowned. She's been a cheerleader since at least middle school, but working to become head cheerleader has led to the position she has when she's first shown at the basketball pep rally. In addition to cheerleading, dating Jason Carver has led to her being known as one half of the power couple that walked the halls of Hawkins High. Chrissy balances out Jason's more aggressive personality with gentle sweetness.
Her connection to cheerleading is how she officially met Eddie Munson back when they were in middle school. She was cheering with friends at the talent show, and Eddie was playing with his band. He references this meeting during a conversation in the woods outside of school, a talk that is the start of a friendship between the two.
2. Home Life - Chrissy only cares that she's perfect because her mother seems hellbent on verbally abusing her until she fits into the cookie cutter mold of what a good girl should be. An echo of her mother's harsh words about Chrissy's weight and her size can be heard when she's hallucinating in the bathroom, which visibly upset her. The words and expectations of her mother lead to Chrissy developing an eating disorder, and has Chrissy projecting an image that she's fine when she's the exact opposite. It's because of this that Chrissy never reaches out for help when she's having hallucinations and nightmares, thinking that she can't let anyone see her as anything other than perfect.
3. Vecna - Chrissy isn't just murdered by Vecna. She is mentally tortured for a while, the monster isolating her and putting her in a weakened mental state. He completely destroys her trust in herself, as well as her ability to feel she can trust others. In all the time she was suffering, no one noticed. No one realized she was slowly withdrawing and was hurting. No one reached out. She's the most popular girl in school, but she's also somehow the most overlooked. As long as she wears a tight smile and stays quiet, no one sees that there's something else going on. And that's a crushing thing to realize, only for Chrissy to reach out to Eddie and think she has a hope of survival.
In the end, Vecna doesn't allow her to hold onto the hope for long. He decides her time is up and her suffering is over, after leading her on a chase that breaks her down completely. Chrissy dies a painful and terrible death, one that she will vividly remember during her time in game.
4. Eddie Munson - Becoming friends with Eddie Munson is something that Chrissy doesn't expect. She approaches him to buy drugs off of him, so she can try to quiet her mind enough that she can be at peace. She's terrified of what's happening, and feels like she can trust Eddie enough to ask him for help. She doesn't tell him the full story of what's going on, but she's able to smile and laugh in her conversation with him. For the first time in a while, she feels hope. She has to feel a level of trust with him to willingly get in his van and ride back to his trailer with him, and genuinely thinks he's a nice guy. People at school are terrible to him, but she realizes that he's nothing like everyone says he is. He's not mean and scary at all.
Chrissy tries to live by the rule of always being kind. She's a genuinely sweet person that never has an unkind word to say to anyone. If others are being unkind, she'll speak up, though she's quick to back down if she's argued with or told to be quiet. She tries to be perfect, after growing up with her mother verbally abusing her for being too fat and not looking perfect. Because of this, she knows what it feels like to not feel like you're worth anything. She'll go out of her way to support and be nice to everyone, even people who probably don't deserve it.
She also is someone that believes in hard work. Chrissy is head cheerleader on the squad, and that's not always a position that is just handed to you. Usually you have to work your ass off to be nominated. And once you have the role, you have to work to organize practices and squad events, and ensure that everyone on the team is well managed. Work hard and be kind are Chrissy's two biggest guiding personality traits, and she stands by them even when things get hard.
When Vecna starts to attack her with hallucinations, she still shows up to be head cheerleader. She still works hard at school, even when her grades slip. She's still nice to everyone, she still shows up and does what she needs to do. She just tries to push down the issues that she's dealing with and stay focused on appearing perfect on the outside.
In game, when presented with something that makes her have to compromise what she believes in, Chrissy probably will remain stubbornly steadfast by her beliefs. It would take a lot for her to snap at someone and be outright mean. Over the course of her time in game, she's going to grow more of a backbone and not be a doormat, but it's going to take time. And even when she comes into her own, she's not going to stop being kind or working hard for her goals.
Beyond being afraid of not looking perfect, Chrissy is absolutely terrified of Vecna, and any other monster. Coming in post death, she's terrified of her own shadow most days. She's very skittish and fearful, and completely high strung. But if you were murdered in the way she was, you'd probably be afraid of everything too. As shy and introverted as she could be prior to her death, she's far more timid now. She 100% will run from anything she's afraid of, and isn't currently at a point where fear doesn't influence her actions and decisions.
However, she isn't someone that lashes out violently when afraid. She's still unwaveringly kind. She's more likely to panic than anything. It will put her in a position where she'll rely on others that she feels safe around to be near her in order to be brave, but when she does find those people and she's in a zone where she feels secure, she's able to feel like she can find some strength and stand up to what's frightening her.
Chrissy's main goal in life is to simply survive. She knows she dies, and wants to make the most out of this second chance she's been given. She wants to embrace the modern world and find her place in it, finding a job that she enjoys. Chrissy is desperate to be wanted and loved, and a lot of her focus will be on forming bonds with other people. She craves friendship, and will be trying to make connections wherever she can. And while she's eager to move on from her ex boyfriend Jason and find someone that treats her better, she's starting to get the picture that she needs to work on some of the trauma she's dealing with and get in a better place. Chrissy doesn't have to be completely healed in order to be worthy of love, but a major goal for her is going to be learning to love herself.
Up until this point, all Chrissy has wanted was simply to be perfect. Her mother forced the ideal of looking perfect and acting perfect upon her, and Chrissy has a lot of conditioning and years of verbal abuse to come to terms with and undo. Now that she's getting the hint that perfect isn't attainable for her, her goals will shift to making her own path forward in life. Chrissy will do this by existing on her own terms, and finding ways to express herself that have absolutely nothing to do with the girl she used to be back in Hawkins. She's going to go through a hot mess phase, quite honestly, but she'll get on track eventually.
Gameplay —
Areas of Interest / Brainstorming: I'd really like to see Chrissy growing into her own person. She's coming from a place where she's grown up under her mother's thumb and has been made to feel she has to be perfect. I'd like for her to form friendships and relationships that help her see that she doesn't have to be perfect to be cared for. Getting her to deal with her trauma caused by Vecna is going to be a challenge, but it's something I'd also like to tackle.
Also, getting her to embrace modern technology and become tiktok or instafamous is something she deserves.
