[By the time Robin gets back, Chrissy's figured out how to use bluetooth speakers. She's got a soundbar set up in the living room and is blaring Dancing Queen by Abba, and she's dancing and singing along as she takes the time to sweep and clean up the communal areas.
The music's not so loud that she can't hear the door open, and she waits until Robin's all the way inside the apartment before she presses pause.]
I know you said you have veto rights, but you can't veto Abba. It's just not allowed!
[ As she opens the door to the apartment, Robin has to take a minute to just stop and watch Chrissy, flitting around the place, singing her heart out to Dancing Queen. It's... so damn charming.
Finally, she closes the door behind her and toes her shoes off, entering the apartment properly as she shuffles of her backpack strap and drops it down on the couch. ]
Okay, okay. No veto for Abba, but... Maybe something a little less on the nose?
[ Looking around, she spots the phone hooked up to the soundbar, grabs it, and cues up something a little different. ]
[Chrissy's laughing, not at all bothered by the comment. But when Robin turns the song to another one of her favorites by Abba, she gives out a little sound that's definitely close to a squeal of excitement. And promptly lets the broom lean against the wall so she can hurry over to grab Robin by both hands.
She doesn't hesitate to drag her more toward the center of the room, so they can dance and sing along to the song. It's just him here right now, there's no reason to feel awkward or embarrassed. They can just be ridiculous and have some fun. Chrissy even gets pretty into the singing part by the time the chorus hits, and guides Robin into giving her a twirl.]
[ But Robin makes no effort to prevent herself from being pulled into a dance in the center of the room. She's not graceful, by any means, but she at least manages to twirl around without stepping on Chrissy's toes or tripping over her own feet. She sings, breathy but bright, with laughter interrupting the lyrics as they go. ]
[Chrissy ends up grabbing both of Robin's hands and spinning them both around in dizzying circles as the song ends, and they both wind up toppling in a heap on the couch. She's laughing until there's tears in her eyes, hands clutching at her stomach.
Her playlist keeps going, but she ignores the music for now and turns her head to look over at Robin.]
You know, you always know just how to make me smile. Thanks for that.
[ As if on cue, Robin also flops her head over to look at Chrissy, still sighing out a laugh. It sort of catches in her throat a bit when Chrissy speaks though, and Robin has to shove down the butterflies that start fluttering in her stomach, clearing her throat and sitting up a little straighter. ]
Yeah, well. You've got a nice smile. It's something everyone should see more of.
[She feels her cheeks flushing, and it takes her a few seconds to realize she's blushing. The warmth spreads throughout her, and soon she's left a little wide eyed as she stays perfectly still, looking up at Robin from her reclined position.]
Yeah?
[There's definitely a few butterflies there, ones she doesn't quite understand, but she tries to ignore them. It's a new thing, but not unwelcome. Her voice is a little breathy as she tries acting calm and cool.]
I think I can manage that. For you.
[That only serves to make her blush more, and Chrissy tries to distract from the fact by sliding off the couch to go retrieve her phone and turn off the music for a little while.]
The words echo in Robin's mind as she watches Chrissy slip away to go turn off the music. She bites her lip, shaking her head and trying to remind herself that she probably just meant it as a friend. Even if Chrissy would have no problem with Robin liking girls, the chance that she likes girls herself is... Likely way too small for Robin to want to think about.
So, she shoves those feelings into a box in her mind and stands up as well, grabbing her backpack and moving to put it away properly in the room that used to be Billy's, but is hers now. Little by little, she's been making it more her own, with posters and knick knacks to give it a slightly more girly touch. Not as girly as Chrissy's room, sure, but enough.
She reemerges into the living room and positions herself a bit awkwardly by the doorway. ]
[The time Robin's in her new room gives her a little breathing space. She's still flushed and a little flustered, but she's at least able to smile through it in an attempt to hide the fact she's a little on edge.
Then she has to go and turn around to take notice of Robin standing by the doorway. The sight is enough to make her take pause and she laughs at herself, because this? It's ridiculous.]
Yeah, okay. [She wants to insist that she can do it alone, that Robin doesn't need to lift a finger. What she does instead is go over to sweep Robin up in an explanation of what all she's trying to get done before the boys get back home. And really, maybe she creates more chores than there need to be, just for an excuse to get to hang together a little longer.
If Robin figures it out, she's at least kind enough not to say anything. But by the time they finish up an hour or so later, and she excuses herself to go out on a jog, she's feeling a lot less flustered and more like herself.]
