[She really appreciates him trying to make her feel better. If this was Jason, he'd be angry at her for daring to get hurt and making him have to interrupt his night to help her out. He might even be yelling right now, because there's no way he'd believe her.

Eddie does believe her though. She reached out, and he grabbed her by the hand. And he's not letting her deal with this alone. Chrissy tries to smile, but it comes out more of a grimace.

I'm pretty... [What's the word he's used before?] Pretty metal, right?

[Her voice is tense, tight with her attempt to hide the pain she's in from him. It's not that she doesn't trust him with it, but she doesn't want to freak him out more than he already is. It's easier to try and get him to smile, so he doesn't worry about her.

Chrissy is used to making people not worry. Her mother yelled at her enough when she was little that she learned quickly to make herself as small as possible to not be noticed, and in the chance that she is, always find a way to make other people smile so they don't notice what she's actually feeling or thinking. There isn't the same desire to do that with Eddie, but there's still guilt that he's worried about her at all.

He's given her permission though, so she leans over to rest her head against the window. And she lets herself cry a little more openly, shaking as she tries to restrain her sobs.
