getting our dup au on
[In the weeks after Chrissy's arrival in town, things stay pretty consistent. Eddie refuses to allow her to stay in the Down, and he takes her straight to his place. He's right, it's big and fancy, and there's more than enough room for the both of them. He takes her out shopping to get some clothes and things that she needs, and they settle into their new lives relatively easily.
It just so happens that things are completely different here than they were back in Hawkins, and neither of them seem sure what to do with the city they've found themselves in. Chrissy remembers everything from orientation a little too well, and in her initial days there she reluctantly heads out to the community center in order to try and get a better idea of what being a submissive even means. She knows it means she has a tattoo down her throat, a long black line that's visible all the time. And she knows that she sees other submissives with their dominants on the train sometimes, wearing collars and other ways that marked them as belonging to someone.
She's so shaken by her first experience at the community center that she begs Eddie not to make her go back. He's not making her go anywhere, she knows, but she really doesn't want to engage in everything that's expected of her here. Sex isn't something she's brand new to, but the fact that it could happen with random strangers makes her not want to leave his apartment at all. So she doesn't, and Eddie doesn't seem to push her to try. If anything, it almost is like he's relieved she stays hidden away where only he can see her.
Their routine shifts a little then, their days made up of hanging out together around his apartment. They watch movies spend hours talking, and work together to keep themselves fed and keep the place clean. It's essentially the happiest Chrissy has ever been.
Then reality settles down upon them, and the expectation of meeting quota has them both stressed. It's something they have to do, or they risk punishment of some kind. She knows that he wouldn't mind letting himself get one, but thinks he might take issue with anyone doing anything to her. She also wonders if maybe it would be easier on him if she just went out and found someone to make quota with. He wouldn't have to worry about her then. But would he be jealous, she wonders?
She's sitting on the edge of the couch, watching him pace the room. When he gets going, she knows now to just let him wear himself out and get everything off his chest. But she hates seeing him worked up, knowing it's only because of the fact she's here in the first place.]
You know, this doesn't have to be a bad thing. We can figure this out, Eddie.
